Tackk is a free tool you can use to quickly create simple webpages. Teachers could use Tackk to advertise an event, explain an assignment, make a lesson plan, or create a newsletter. Students could show off their best digital work in a simple portfolio, use it for a news fair, novel project or other poster project, video project, and more.
It is not necessary to register for an account to create a Tackk page; however, if you do not register, your Tackk page(s) will expire after a week. If you register, your Tackk pages stay up indefinitely. There are also privacy options, private content and password protection, that you can set.
Creating a Tackk is as simple as uploading an image (or more than one) and adding text in the customizable fields above and below the image. It can also accommodate audio files, videos, and maps.
At the bottom of your Tackk, you will see a “Tackk Stream” that allows for a more collaborative use of this tool. Viewers can comment on your Tackk, AND they can add photos, video, links, and other media to interact with you. The stream could be used to give feedback or to complete an assignment (students could upload their assignment to the comment stream). Here’s an example public assignment from Tech Coordinator @heathersanders in which students created a one-slide advertisement based on their favorite Grilled Cheese restaurant: https://tackk.com/koolteechagrilledcheese
Below is a private, password-protected assignment example from the 602 Core art unit. I've embedded it below and included the link. The link will open a bigger screen view.
